Holy Spirit the Spirit of Wisdom

Luke 12:12 TPT Simply be confident and allow the Spirit of Wisdom access to your heart, and he will reveal in that very moment what you are to say to them.” Acts 6:10 TPT But the Holy Spirit gave Stephen remarkable wisdom to answer them. His words were prompted by the Holy Spirit, and they could not refute what he said. God is such a good God who gives wonderful gifts to us! After He gave us a gift of eternal life through Jesus' death and resurrection, He gave us the gift of Holy Spirit as our Helper. This is one amazing gift after another! When we receive the Holy Spirit, we receive the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. Holy Spirit will teach us, guide and lead us into all truth. Stephen was filled with the Holy Spirit and his serving was accompany with many miracles, signs and wonders. As such it upset some men from a sect to argue with him. But Holy Spirit gave Stephen remarkable wisdom to answer them and they were unable to refute what he said. As be...

Getting down Our Knees to Serve

John 13:4‭-‬5 TPT 4 So he got up from the meal and took off his outer robe, and took a towel and wrapped it around his waist. 5 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ dirty feet and dry them with his towel. John 13:17 TPT So now put into practice what I have done for you, and you will experience a life of happiness enriched with untold blessings!” Jesus is our wonderful Savior. He is our King of kings and the Lord of lords. Yet he humbled and lowered himself again and again to demonstrate his love for us. One great example is shown in John 13:1-17. Although Jesus walked in great authority and power, he did not mind going down his knees to wash his disciples' feet. When we walk, our feet will become dirty. This is true in the physical but also a reflection of our walk with God. Jesus was demonstrating that he came to cleanse our life from all filthiness. As we allow Jesus to cleanse us, then we can become part ...

Guarding Our Heart Against Offenses

Luke 17:1 NKJV Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! I love how Jesus taught us very real and practical things. But they are also hard truths that we need to know and manage them so that we can live a victorious Christian life. Here in Luke 17:1, Jesus warned us of two things. One, that offenses would definitely come. Secondly, that we should not be those who bring on the offenses. Although it is unavoidable to have offenses coming to us but we can choose not to be offended. We need to guard our heart with all due diligence and not allow the offenses to affect and hurt us. Guarding our heart is not merely ignoring the offenses, brushing them off or shutting yourself off emotionally. We guard our heart with meditating on the word of God and by being sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. We also need to enlarge our heart, show more grace and be more forgiving to people so that we will not ...

Step out into Your Healing & Breakthrough

Luke 17:14‭-‬15 NKJV 14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, Our God is a God of manifold wisdom, works, mercy and grace. He has many wondrous ways of doing things and reaching out to us. During Jesus' ministry, he prayed for many people who were sick and they were healed immediately. The blind could see, the lame walked and the demon-possessed were set free. In the case of the ten lepers coming to him to ask for mercy, Jesus didn't heal them on the spot. Instead Jesus instructed them to go show themselves to the priests. Notice that Jesus did not even mention any prayer or words like "be healed" which he usually did. The ten lepers could have gotten upset. I am sure they have heard and even witnessed of how many came to Jesus and were healed immediately, including other...

Saying Yes to God's Promises

2 Corinthians 1:20‭-‬22 MSG Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete. 2 Corinthians 1:20 AMP For as many as are the promises of God, in Christ they are [all answered] “Yes.” So through Him we say our “Amen” to the glory of God. Our God is a Promise-Maker and a Promise-Keeper. It has been estimated that there are over 7,000 promises of God in the Bible! Why does God want to make so many promises? It shows how much He loves us and how much He is committed to us. A promise is a declaration or assurance that one will do something or that a particular thing will happen. Every word of God is true. God's words are definite, complete and final. Heaven and earth will pa...

Change Your Conduct, Renew Your Mind

Romans 12:1‭-‬2 NKJV 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which  is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Rom 12:2 is a well preached verse to remind us that we should not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. And there is much focus on changing the way we think so that our life can be transformed. It is even said that your life will change when your thinking change. But the verse before that is the key step to take that will lead to our mind being renewed. It actually starts with first our physical conduct. Apostle Paul wrote in Rom 12:1 that we need to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. Eph 4:22-24 also parallels  this clearly to put o...

Treasure Your Spiritual Birthright

Genesis 25:32‭-‬34 NKJV 32 And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?” 33 Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.” So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob. 34 And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright. When Esau was tired and hungry, his physical need was all that matters. He was willing to trade his birthright and sold it Jacob for merely some bread and lentils stew. Thus, the Bible said Esau despised his birthright. This sounds ridiculous and you may think that you will never do it. But how very often we find ourselves allowing the needs and lust of our flesh to overrule our spirit. Heb 12:16-17 warns us not to be fornicator or a profane person like Esau to lose his birthright for a morsel of food and was unable to inherit his blessings. Our life is a sum of all about the choices that we have made. ...

How to enter into His presence?

Ps 95:2 (ESV) Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! Thanksgiving is the gateway into His presence.  Just last week, I had some issues with my husband with regards to work. I felt disappointed and lost. It caused me to have blockage hearing His voice and entering into His rest and His presence. In other words, I had no peace. Then on Sunday, I was relating to my spiritual leader about the issue. And he said something that I felt was really good. He said, how precious do you think your praise and thanks would be to God during difficult times? It's like when everything is good and your friends come and be good with you, as coMpared to when you are going through bad times like e.g. Bankruptcy, and your friends come and give you encouragement.  When we go through bad seasons, it becomes so precious to God as we put on the garment of praise and Thanksgiving. Because this bad seasons will eventually be over. And then ...

Why do we still struggle with old habits?

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 AMP Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. In the first miracle recorded in the Bible of what Jesus did, he turned dirty water into wine. And the wine turned out to the best wine in the wedding. This is a good illustration of how our life is like in Christ - the old things have passed away, all things have become new. Jesus has cleansed our old life with his blood and given us a new life in Him. The dirty water has miraculously transformed its properties and it will never go back to its original state. Thank God that once we are saved, God has done a powerful supernatural work of transformation in us! We were once lost but now saved. We were blind but now we can see. We have been spiritualit...

The Power of Your Words

James (Jacob) 3:2 TPT We all fail in many areas, but especially with our words. Yet if we’re able to bridle the words we say we are powerful enough to control ourselves in every way, and that means our character is mature and fully developed. The title of James chapter 3 in the passion Bible says "The Power of Your words" while the NKJV version is "The Untameable Tongue". It is interesting how the two versions  summarized the chapter in a very different way. If you combine both titles together, it will be a warning that your tongue is untameable yet your words are powerful. James reminds us that we all fail in many areas but especially in our words. Yet he offered a great word of wisdom that if we can bridle the words we say we are powerful enough to control ourselves in every way. A bridle is a headgear used to control a horse, consisting of buckled straps to which a bit and reins are attached. Its purpose is to help restrain a horse's movements when neces...

Our Life as a Burnt Offering

I Chronicles 16:40‭-‬41 NKJV 40 to offer burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of burnt offering regularly morning and evening, and to  do according to all that is written in the Law of the Lord which He commanded Israel; 41 and with them Heman and Jeduthun and the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to give thanks to the Lord , because His mercy endures forever; In the old Testament, animals were being used as sacrifices in burnt offerings. In the New Testament, Jesus himself became the sacrifice on the Cross to paid for our sins. He was the living sacrifice offered up as a burnt offering unto the Lord. Jesus has set an example for us. Just as he has taken up the Cross, we are to take up our cross daily. And just as he became the burnt offering, we are to offer up our lives as living sacrifices, a burnt offering unto the Lord. God has redeemed us back to Himself. As we are saved, we must no longer live as if we are orphans. But we are to...

Jesus Clears Our Doubts

John 20:27 TPT Then, looking into Thomas’ eyes, he said, “Put your finger here in the wounds of my hands. Here—put your hand into my wounded side and see for yourself. Thomas, don’t give in to your doubts any longer, just believe!” When Jesus first appeared to his disciples on the first evening after his resurrection, Thomas was not there. Yet when the rest of the disciples told him that they saw Jesus with their own eyes, he was unconvinced and full of unbelief. He told them that he would not believe unless he personally see his crucifixion wounds in his hands and sides, touch them and put his fingers through them. Eight days later, Jesus appeared a second time to his disciples when Thomas was around. The first person he looked at and spoke to was Thomas. Jesus addressed his doubt and unbelief and told him to touch his wounds and put his fingers through them. This time, Thomas immediately recognized and cried out to Jesus as his Lord and God. How graci...

Jesus' Love demonstrated in Delay

John 11:5‭-‬8 TPT 5-6 Now even though Jesus loved Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, he remained where he was for two more days. 7 Finally, on the third day, he said to his disciples, “Come. It’s time to go to Bethany.” 8 “But Teacher,” they said to him, “do you really want to go back there? It was just a short time ago the people of Judea were going to stone you!” God has His ways of doing things that are often unconventional. We may not always understand but we can learn to trust Him. Especially when He seems to delay in showing up, it does not mean He don't love us. Even though Jesus loved Mary, Martha and Lazarus, he delayed in going to them when Lazarus was sick to the point of death. But Jesus knew exactly what he was doing and the timing that he should be going. This was a case whereby Lazarus had to go through temporal death that Jesus may raise him from the tomb. It happened so as to demonstrate that Jesus had the power to resurrect the dead. God has a perfect an...

Faith and Endurance

James 1:12 NKJV Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. James (Jacob) 1:12 TPT If your faith remains strong, even while surrounded by life’s difficulties, you will continue to experience the untold blessings of God! True happiness comes as you pass the test with faith, and receive the victorious crown of life promised to every lover of God! When bad things happen to them, believers may get upset with God. They think that if God was to be so good and powerful, God should have prevented the bad thing from happening in the first place. Thus if God didn't prevent it, they begin to question and doubt His goodness. The thing is we should not become naive when we got saved. Even when we are saved, we are still living in this fallen and broken down world. There will still be sicknesses, poverty, strife, sins and all the bad things that can happen. Only heaven is free...
