How to enter into His presence?

Ps 95:2 (ESV)

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

Thanksgiving is the gateway into His presence.

Just last week, I had some issues with my husband with regards to work. I felt disappointed and lost. It caused me to have blockage hearing His voice and entering into His rest and His presence. In other words, I had no peace.

Then on Sunday, I was relating to my spiritual leader about the issue. And he said something that I felt was really good.

He said, how precious do you think your praise and thanks would be to God during difficult times? It's like when everything is good and your friends come and be good with you, as coMpared to when you are going through bad times like e.g. Bankruptcy, and your friends come and give you encouragement.

When we go through bad seasons, it becomes so precious to God as we put on the garment of praise and Thanksgiving. Because this bad seasons will eventually be over. And then we would have missed the opportunity to offer up this precious sacrifices of praise.

In my heart, I tell myself that I wouldn't want to miss these precious moments. Hard and difficult it may be. Painful and depressing it may be. These would be the times when I can really offer up sacrifices of praise.

Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.

Hebrews 13:15 ESV

The reason why we want to enter into His presence is this:

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

2 Corinthians 3:17 ESV

Jesus died on the cross for our freedom, not to be enslaved by the things of the world or the burdens of life.

This morning, I gave thanks and I repented. I repented for not giving thanks to God for the situation I was in. I repented for not giving thanks and trusting that He has greater blessings for me. I repented for that instead of giving thanks, I yielded to the negativity, giving room for the devil to affect me and the people around me.

So friends, if you would like to hear clearly from Holy Spirit, I would like to invite you to say this prayer with me:

Dear Father God, thank You for this day. You are God of yesterday, today and tomorrow. I give thanks to You for all the good and bad that happened yesterday. (If you'd like, tell Him specifically what are the things, especially the bad things that happened.) Thank You Lord that today is in Your hands and You have made me glad. Thank You Lord that You have gone before me for tomorrow and that I do not need to worry about tomorrow.

I also want to ask for Your forgiveness for times when I did not give thanks to You, but instead, coMplain and dwell in my self-pity mode. Forgive me for my lack of awareness of Your spirit. I also want to forgive and release those who may have contributed to my lack of Thanksgiving. (If you'd like, tell Father specifically who are the people and what are the issues.) I receive your forgiveness Lord. By Your forgiveness, I also forgive myself. (Pause and receive God's forgiveness.)

Side note:

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9 ESV

So Father God, thank You for sending Jesus to the cross for my sins. And thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit to be my helper. I enter into Your presence now. Take my heart and my mind. Speak to me as You will. In Jesus name I pray, amen.

With love and blessings,

Huiying
