Waiting on God: If God is not in a hurry, why should I?

In this advanced technology and fast pace society, our expectation for speed is raised. We do not enjoy waiting and we want things to work out fast and immediately.

But not everything happens instantaneously. Especially the good things in life requires waiting.

When it comes to life stages and seasons, you cannot try to hurry through or speed them up. A baby will not skip from crawling to walking immediately. A 3-year degree course will not be  completed in 3-months.

Why do we need to wait? Because we need to allow growth and development to go through the process of time. It molds us and makes us stronger and better.

While you are waiting for your breakthrough to come, you can become discouraged, weary and frustrated.

Perhaps it's a job that you have been looking for. You sent in applications after applications and attended interviews after interviews and nothing has happened. Or it could be a life partner that you have been waiting for a long time but no one right comes along.

Eccl 3:1, 11 says that there is a time and season for everything and God has made everything beautiful in its time.

When you believe in the goodness of God, don't lose heart! Wait on the Lord, be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart. (Ps 27:13-14)

Waiting on the Lord means to trust in His sovereignty and timing and hold on to His promises. God has everything in control and our future is secure in Him. For His thoughts toward us are good and not of evil, to give us a future and a hope. (Jer 29:11)

If God is not in a hurry, why should we?

If God can afford to wait, it means that He is preparing for the right timing to fulfill His best plans for us so that His glory shall be magnified.

Today could be the day you land into your dream career where you will maximize your potential and fulfill your dreams.

Your ideal partner whom will be your best buddy and soulmate could be someone you will meet just round the corner.

God is calling us to be strong and of good courage. To keep moving forward despite our inner fears. For He will not leave us nor forsake us. He is with us wherever we go. (Jos 1:9, Deut 31:6)

Therefore, take heart and do not fear nor worry when the things you are waiting for have yet to happen. Place your trust and hope in God and expect that a greater breakthrough is coming your way right now!

Ps 27:13-14
I  would have lost  heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Wait on the Lord ; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord !

Eccl 3:1, 11
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

Prayer:
Dear God, I am in the season of waiting for my breakthrough to come. I have been doing all that I can but the things that I am expecting for are yet to happen. I am feeling burdened but today I handover all my burdens to You. I trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness. I am in Your perfect divine timing and plans for my life. Let my faith arise and my hope be found in You. I pray that as I wait upon You, You will strengthen my heart.  I believe that You are preparing something great for me and my breakthroughs are just around the corner! I thank You that my prayers are heard and my desires shall be fulfilled in due time!
In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

God bless,
Hazel Ashley
