Prophetic Word for 2018: A Year of Consecration and Divine Appointments

2018 will be a year of consecration and a year of divine appointments. Each person may be at a different phase in these aspects but we will all come together to fulfill His words in our life. And these will be the anchoring Biblical keys: 1. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done 2018 is a year where God wants us to consecrate our lives and be willing to say to Him, Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in my life. In all our plans and decisions, we need to seek Him to know if that's what God wants us to do this season. 2. Be willing and obedient and you shall eat the good of the land. When we hear God's will for us, we need to be willing and be obedient to follow His will. And God promised in Isa 1:19 that as we do it, we shall be blessed, we shall eat the good of the land and be well provided for. 3. Abide in Christ and His words and we will bear fruits and fruits that should remain. We need to abide in Christ and His words. He is the v...

7 lessons from Moses' Big-time Foul Up

In the days of Moses, God gave him a calling to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt and delivered them from the bondage of slavery. This was the time when God performed many amazing miracles, signs and wonders one after another.  The ten plagues that fell upon the Egyptians so that they would release the children of Israel. The parting of the Red Sea so that they could walk on dry land while the Egyptian soldiers drowned after them. The supernatural provisions of manna and bringing out of water from rocks. Out of these miracles, one incident resulted in Moses paying a great price - the price of not being able to enter into the Promised land. It was the miracle of striking the rock to bring out water, as recorded in the book of Exo 17:1-6 and Exo 20:1-12.  This miracle happened twice in the Bible. First time, it happened in Exo 17. The children of Israel were camping in Rephidim and there was no water to drink. The people complained against Moses that he broug...

Why did Jesus walk on the Sea instead of taking the boat?

Jesus and Peter walked on water is a well known and well quoted story in Matt 14:22-33. Yet the points that we can learn from this remain amazingly powerful. We often focus on the part of the story where Jesus called Peter to walk on water and Peter obeyed at the word of Jesus. But as we read the story from verse 22 onward, there are more revelations and powerful truths to be revealed. Jesus was busy ministering to the multitudes and he made the disciples left on the boat to go to another place. Then He went on to pray by Himself on the mountain. While He was praying, the disciples' boat was being tossed by strong winds in the middle of the sea and they were afraid.  So Jesus knowing they were being tossed and were afraid, walked on the sea to His disciples in the fourth watch. Notice that when Jesus was praying on the mountain he could already see the disciples' boat being tossed about. But He didn't go to them immediately. He only went in the fourth w...

Prophesying to the Dry Bones in our life

The Valley of Dry Bones in the book of Ezekiel 37:4-14 is a powerful depiction of how our God is a God who is specialised in the Impossible. He is our God of Miracles. Throughout the Bible, God performed miracles after miracles to deliver, to heal, to bless and to provide for His people. In Exodus 14:14-28, God parted the Red Sea to let the children of Israel walked through to the other side and then returned the waters to drown the Egyptian soldiers chasing after them. In the four gospels, Jesus' ministry was filled with many notable miracles, signs and wonders. The blind saw, the lame walked, the dead received resurrection. Jesus also turned water into wine, walked on waters, commanded the winds and waves to stop and multiplied 5 loaves and two fish to feed 5,000 people. Each miracle defied human logic and challenged our minds beyond our ability to perceive. It showed that what was completely impossible with men, was totally possible with God. The dry bon...

Why Doing the Will of God Fulfills Our Greatest Potential in Life

In John 5:24-30, the word of God assures us that our faith is not built upon a man. But our faith is built upon the Son of God who has life in Himself,  just as our Father God. And because He died on the Cross to pay for our sins, we can have eternal life. The great news is that we believe in a Savior who is not dead but alive! He has passed from death and resurrected to life. (1 Pet 3:18) Lazarus was a prelude of Jesus' own resurrection. The moment Jesus called Lazarus to "Come Forth!", Lazarus was raised from death to life and came out from the tomb. (John 11:38-44) Today, the same resurrection power of God is available to us. Jesus is calling you and I to "Come Forth!". He is calling out to our spirit man to come alive. He is calling out for our dreams, visions and hopes that have died to come alive. He will bring us from death to life, and out of darkness into His marvelous light. (1 Pet 2:9) And being in His light is also to live in knowing an...

Year-End Review: The Joy in Making the Pursuit of God as Your Goal

As we come to the tail end of the year and reflect upon our life, we may have mixed feelings on all that have happened.  Some of us maybe feeling high as they had achieved their goals. Some may feel disappointed that their desires have not been fulfilled yet. Other than the tangible goals in life, there is another goal that we can go for, which is to go after God. This is one goal that is within your ability to achieve and that you will be well rewarded for. Whether the year has been good or bad, whether you are feeling high or low, put them all aside. Cast aside all distractions. Come back to the secret place to pray and seek God, to read His word. There is such increasing joy in knowing Him and walking with Him, that He wants to give to you. In Ps 27:1-7, joy is mentioned thrice in a progressive way. From "joy" to "Greatly Rejoice to "Exceedingly glad". They show the type of joy that we can find in God. The first is the joy in God's s...
