Putting Your Past Behind

It is always exciting to go on a holiday overseas. When you go travelling, you will try to travel as light as possible so that it will be easier and that you will have more luggage space to pack in new things from your shopping sprees. Every time when you return home, you will unload everything and empty your luggage, no matter how tedious it maybe.   Our life is like a travelling journal. In each life stage, it is like the beginning of a new journey and destination. We need to travel light to make our journey ahead lighter and easier. No one will travel with a luggage full of stuff from a previous trip. Yet in life we may find ourselves carrying our past with us, despite moving on to another phase. These past burdens are emotional baggages. Whether you are aware of it or not, they weigh you down and affect you in your thinking, your beliefs and even in your decision making. Just like making space in a luggage to put in new stuff from shopping sprees, you need to start unlo...

Dealing with Depressive Thoughts

Every now and then we will have negative thoughts running through our minds. It is normal and okay to feel fearful and worried about life. But it becomes an issue when you entertain the negative thoughts too much, allowing them to take root and grow inside of you. The negative thoughts become depressive when you feel overwhelmed and hopelessness begin to set in. We need to recognise that there are various sources of our stress and worries. They can be external or internal, within our control and out of our control. It is always important to start with the internal, which is to deal with our own thoughts and emotions. What is within your ability to make changes, you do it to the best that you know how and let God do the rest. The world believes in positive self-talk and motivational speeches. People flock to buy books and hear from the best motivational speakers to get inspired and energized to pursue success. But as believers we do not need to run after motivational speakers. Our be...

The Great Composer

God is the biggest orchestrator. He orchestrates our lives without us knowing. But when you know it, you begin to see His glory in your life. Psalm 139:13-16 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and  wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that  my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And  skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my subtance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were  non of them. The Lord God composes our song. He writes the notes, taps the beats, creates the rhythm and put in the lyrics. He skillfully brings in the right people into your life. He fashions your days with caution. He loves the way you are formed. He looks at the substance in you, and is glad. God loves us so much that everythin...

Calling

Romans 8:28 Amplified Bible (AMP) 28  And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan  and  purpose. What is a calling? 1) A calling is when someone calls you to do something. 2) When someone calls you to do something, you must have peace. 3) We can be doing many things and have the ability to do many things, but God has an original purpose for us as an individual. 4) This calling must always be in line with God's greater plan . 5) A calling is your life message. Find this calling. Deuteronomy 4:29 New King James Version (NKJV) 29  But from there you will seek the  Lord  your God , and you will find  Him  if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul . "Dear Heavenly Father, let me look to You for who You are and not for what I am. Let me desire fo...

The Power of God's Love - Moving from Defeat to Dominion

Today, you may be experiencing challenges and feeling overwhelmed and defeated by the situation that you are in. Our solution is found in God's love for us. God's love is not just a feeling. God's love is a fact and it is powerful. God's love for us brings about His Defense for us. He will defend us from the accusations and attacks from the devil. Indeed as what Rom 8:31 says, if God is for us, who can be against us? So you do not need to feel defeated. Defeat is a feeling and is NOT God's fact. God's fact is Deliverance. God will deliver us from defeat into victory. God has given us His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, to deliver us from death into life, from darkness into His glorious light. God's love for us is sacrificial and generous.  God's love for us is so great that it compels Him to give us His all and His best. Therefore, if God has not withheld His most Precious only Son from us, He will freely give us all things. His Deliverance brin...

Light Dispels Darkness

When you are facing unusually difficult situations, you are not just dealing with what you can see in the natural. There are forces of darkness behind to hinder you to fulfill your destiny and purpose in God.  What you are facing is a strong spiritual resistance and you need to stand in prayers and faith in the word of God. We need to stand firm on the Rock of Jesus Christ, to be steadfast, be immovable, to resist the devil and he will flee from us (Jas 4:7). It is time to fight and not flight, and push back the kingdom of darkness. God is light and as He dwells within us, the light of Christ in us shall dispel the darkness. A good picture here to illustrate and understand is this. When a room is in the dark and you switch on the light, the light will immediately overtake and dispel away the darkness. There is literally nothing else you can do to chase away darkness. You cannot use a rod to chase it away. You cannot shout at it to chase it away. You can only brin...
